The city of Madrid offers a diverse range of public transport services for quick, convenient and accessible travel.

We can combine different complementary modes of transport to reach any point of the city and its surroundings.

Indeed the tourist ticket allows to take all the public transport on the Community of Madrid. It does not have any travel limit and can be used during its validity period. This is undoubtedly a practical and economical way of getting around the city. There are packages of 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 days, in two zones (A and T). Therefore, the ticket is valid for the number of consecutive days indicated, from the date of its first use.

Are you going to spend several days in Madrid and plan to visit the surrounding area as well?

You need the T Zone subscription, which includes:

• The entire metro network (zones A, B1, B2 and B3)
• All city bus lines (blue buses of the EMT)
• Interurban lines (green buses of the Community of Madrid), except the Express line at the airport
• The entire network of suburban trains Cercanías Madrid (Renfe)
• The lines ML2 and ML3 of Metro Ligero, as well as the ML4 tram of Parla.

Sales points:
In fact the tourist ticket is only available with the Multi Card (Tarjeta Multi). The card is multi-person and rechargeable next to the Regional Consortium for Public Transport of the Community of Madrid.

Why buy the subscription: (Tarjeta Transporte Público). This card can be obtained free of charge for any tourist ticket at the time of purchase. Therefore, it allows the end of its period of validity, to be reused by reloading, regardless of the type of ticket (tourist, single ticket, ten trips, etc.).

Where to buy the subscription: In all stations of the metro network, including those of the airport Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas (Terminals 2 and 4). You can get it:

• At the entrance to the Cercanías Aeropuerto T4 station.
• At the headquarters of the Regional Transport Consortium (Plaza del Descubridor Diego de Ordás, 3).
• In all Metro Ligero stations, in the Estancos (tobacconists).
• Other authorized outlets.
• If you choose to travel only with single tickets or ten trips, the purchase price of the Multi Card is € 2.5 (single, non-refundable issue cost).

Indeed there is a shuttle called “Exprés Aeropuerto”, it travels on total journey in about 40 minutes – 30 minutes to:

• Terminal 1 (T1).
• 5 minutes more to Terminal 2 (T2).
• another 5 minutes to Terminal 4 (T4 ).
• 15-20 minutes during the day and every 35 minutes at night.

The price of the ticket is 5 euros, it is to pay in cash on board. The departure / terminus is located at Terminal 4 of the airport (T4) and the line includes the following stops:

• T2, T1.
• O’Donnell (at the corner of Doctor Esquerdo Street).
• Plaza de Cibeles (hotspot of nocturnal services of the EMT, the búhos).
• Atocha station (only during the daytime hours, from 6am to 11.30pm).

Other ways to get around Madrid
