It was exchanged with the King of Toledo by Ferdinand I of Castile who just conquered it. In 1085, Alfonso VI took the city of Toledo which was the old capital of Spain. Madrid enters the kingdom of Castile. The city is however destroyed by the Almoravids in 1109. |  |
